Women are seated in a warm circle in a 1970s wood panelled living room, red carpet, candelabra on the wall, the intimate warmth of a room full of friends dressed in their finest: yellow jacket, purple dress, black turtleneck, navy dress, relaxed, social, completely at ease. The hostess in the centre, purple dress, glasses, warm smile, the confident energy of a woman who has found exactly the right product for her group is cradling a rocket propelled grenade launcher with the casual pride of someone presenting the season's must have home security system.
Laid out on the red carpet in the centre of the circle, arranged with the careful, considered display of a product demonstration that has been very well prepared: two automatic pistols, two combat knives, a submachine gun, hand grenades and ammunition, displayed like the contents of the most extraordinary catalogue ever produced, each item positioned for maximum visibility and ease of browsing. The women around the circle are reacting exactly as they should, leaning in with interest, smiling, engaged, nodding, one reaching toward the display with the focused attention of someone who has spotted exactly what she needs.
